Synoptic Situation: A surface trough will continue to deepen off the west coast during tonight and Friday, while a ridge of high pressure builds to the south of the State. The trough will then will start moving east on Saturday followed by a high pressure cell that will move south of the State during Sunday.

Western Australia

Wind and wave forecasts are averages. Wind gusts can be 40 per cent stronger than the forecast, and stronger still in squalls and thunderstorms. Maximum waves can be twice the forecast height.

Seas: Below 1 metre.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 1.5 metres inshore, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres offshore.

Winds: Southwesterly 10 to 15 knots.
Seas: Below 1 metre.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 1 to 1.5 metres.
Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm.

Saturday 29 February

Winds: South to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots.
Seas: Around 1 metre.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 1 to 1.5 metres inshore, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres offshore.

Sunday 1 March

Winds: South to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots, shifting southerly 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon.
Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1 to 2 metres offshore south of Geraldton during the afternoon or evening.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 1 to 1.5 metres inshore, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres offshore south of Geraldton during the afternoon.
