Weather Situation

A surface trough lies over the Esperance Coast and will move slowly into Eucla Coast on Thursday, out of the region by Friday afternoon. A weak cold front will brush through the southwest coastal during early Friday morning with a ridge of high pressure developing in its wake on Friday and Saturday. Another weak cold front will reach the far southwest on Saturday.

Forecast for Thursday until midnight

Winds: South to southwesterly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the early afternoon then decreasing to about 10 knots in the evening.
Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to around 1 metre east of Hopetoun.
Swell: Southwesterly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre around midday, then increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
Weather: Cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm east of Esperance this morning.

Winds: Southwesterly about 10 knots increasing to 15 to 25 knots before dawn. Winds reaching up to 30 knots west of Hopetoun during the morning and early afternoon.
Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres during the morning.
Swell: Southwesterly 1 to 2 metres, increasing to 2 to 3 metres during the afternoon.
Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm east of Esperance in the early morning.

Winds: Southwesterly 10 to 15 knots becoming variable about 10 knots during the morning.
Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres.
Swell: Southwesterly 2 to 3 metres, increasing to 2.5 to 4 metres during the afternoon.
