Synoptic Situation: A surface trough will continue to deepen off the west coast during tonight and Friday, while a ridge of high pressure builds to the south of the State. The trough will then will start moving east on Saturday followed by a high pressure cell that will move south of the State during Sunday.

Western Australia

Wind and wave forecasts are averages. Wind gusts can be 40 per cent stronger than the forecast, and stronger still in squalls and thunderstorms. Maximum waves can be twice the forecast height.

Swell 1: Southwesterly 2 metres.

Winds: Northeasterly 20 to 30 knots decreasing to 20 to 25 knots in the morning then increasing to 20 to 30 knots in the early afternoon.
Seas: 1.5 to 2.5 metres.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 2 metres, tending southerly 2 to 2.5 metres during the morning, then tending southwesterly 2.5 metres during the afternoon.
Weather: Partly cloudy. 90% chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm.

Saturday 29 February

Winds: Northeasterly 15 to 20 knots turning northeast to southeasterly 15 to 25 knots in the late morning and early afternoon then increasing to southeast 20 to 30 knots in the late evening.
Seas: 1.5 to 2.5 metres, decreasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 1.5 to 2.5 metres.
Weather: Partly cloudy. 60% chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm in the morning.

Sunday 1 March

Winds: Southeasterly 20 to 30 knots turning easterly 25 to 30 knots during the afternoon.
