Synoptic Situation: A strong high pressure system over southwestern Western Australia will slowly drift eastwards over the next few days, moving across South Australia today, over New South Wales on Saturday, then across Victoria on Sunday and out over the Tasman Sea during Sunday evening. The high will then slow down and remain over the Tasman Sea during Monday.
Wind and wave forecasts are averages. Wind gusts can be 40 per cent stronger than the forecast, and stronger still in squalls and thunderstorms. Maximum waves can be twice the forecast height.
Winds: Westerly 20 to 25 knots, reaching 20 to 30 knots offshore during the morning.
Seas: 1.5 to 2.5 metres.
Swell 1: Southwesterly 3 to 4 metres, increasing to 4 to 5 metres during the evening.
